Privacy policy
This policy explains what PassDental collects, why, and your choices. Effective 2026-09-28.
What we collect
- If you use PassDental without an account: your answers and progress are stored only in your own browser (local storage). We record anonymous usage events, such as "practice started" or "pricing viewed", with a random per-session id, how you arrived (for example an ad and its keyword) and your country as reported by our network provider. We do not store your IP address with these events, and they are not linked to you.
- If you create an account: your email address, a display name, and either a password (stored only as a secure hash) or your Google account id if you use Google sign-in. We store your answers and review schedule so your progress follows you across devices, plus the browser type for each active sign-in.
- If you buy full access: payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your email, the plan and amount, and a Stripe reference. We never see or store your card details.
- If you contact us: the email and message you send through the Help form, and the page you sent it from.
How we use it
To provide the service and your access, sync your progress, answer your questions, prevent abuse, and improve PassDental, for example by seeing which questions or pages help people and which ads bring visitors who find it useful. We do not sell your personal information.
Service providers
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Google — Google sign-in, if you choose it, and Google Ads conversion measurement, which uses Google's cookies to tell us whether an ad click led to a practice session or purchase.
- Cloudflare — secure delivery of the site.
- Anthropic — if you use the AI tutor, the question you're on and any text you type are sent to generate an explanation. Your name and email are not sent.
- Telegram — the operator receives notifications of sign-ups, purchases and Help messages, which include the email address involved.
Our servers and database are in Canada. Some providers above may process data in other countries.
Cookies and browser storage
We use a secure sign-in cookie to keep you signed in, a short-lived cookie during Google sign-in, and browser storage for your progress and session attribution. Google Ads measurement sets Google cookies as described above. We do not use third-party advertising cookies beyond that.
Retention and your rights
We keep account data while your account exists. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to close your account, at any time through the Help button. Anonymous usage events and short-lived database backups may be kept for analysis and recovery. Payment records are kept as required for tax and accounting.
